1.     I brought a gift from my boy friend when I left in Korea.     This gift is a small recording machine, looks like penguin shape.    Usually we argued by small event that couldn’t remember after a day.    My boy friend liked surprising event for make me fun.  When he gave me this small recording machine, he recorded saying for apologize to me.     He recorded that “ Seo- Kyoung, my Korean name, I am really sorry and I love you.”     This small machine has a switch for turn on his saying.     When I really missed him, I turned on this small penguin for listen his voice on my bed.     That machine makes me for remind our memories, which could be travel, small argument, and parties with my friends, too.  Even though we didn’t talk a lot these days, we still believed and loved through long periods.

 

convincing & motivation

 Sometimes, I really want to stand apart from my friends for myself. Keep my place alone and enjoy the time my own time. I used to hanging with my friends who graduated same high school and they completely know who I am. I am confident of my personality to strong otherwise I am so weak, depressed, and selfish. However, my friends always make me to be funny, enjoy, and pretty person. I was protected from their love and never ending friendship as kid even though I made some mistakes in relationship or works. They were guardians to me every time and then I accustomed to receive their reasonable concerns. Following Korean proverb, “a big fish in a little pond” that means one who loved in same place couldn’t image other place what happens there and try to go outside because of fear in other side of life and familiar life. Also, I was a big fish so I had avoided meeting other persons who I did not know much. In this place, I should meet other persons and grow up my social ability. Listing music, reading a book, cleaning my house… That is also good methods to replace thinking myself who I am. The most important thing is “don’t miss who I am.”

journal question 4- dream

I have the same experience. Before I took an airplane to the United States, I really got scare and fear. That time was moment of achievement in my dream. I regretted my choice which is for study here in an airplane. Why I decided to go the USA, why I should left in Korea, my family, friends, accustomed life to me. My brain was almost like a black paper. Even I am still thinking about it here. If I would not come to the USA, what happened in my life? The marriage? That may be mine or friends. New job? I could not find answer against question because that is not real anymore to me. Eventually, in the last, my thinking always ends this way.“Don’t image other choice that I did not go. enjoy for better life.” When people would decide to leave somewhere for their dream, no one can sure that dream is followed right way or wrong way. Actually, no one can suggest and advise to you due to not theirs. People should be roamed for finding a dream and destination. My thinking, people who can leave home to follow their dream with willing. Definitely, that should be deserved respect because of their courage, challenge, and passion. For find dream of process should overcome the scare, fear what will happen in the future. Even future which will not perfect can disturb you.

Journal question 3- America impression

I don’t know exactly how people think Americans commonly but I learned many things in here.
Before I stayed in Korea, I watched many Americans drama. Through the Americans drama, I should imagine about the real life in America. That time I got curious about Americans culture, such as party, eating habits, and fashion style. When I first visited in wall- mart, I remembered how much so excited to see many products in there. And then, I still remembered how much hard to clean my bathroom because in the bottom of bathroom does not have a drain. That is really different between Korea and America. The most interesting in Americans of characteristic is freedom of opportunity for education. When I checked the class room or walked in the campus, I really surprised due to age of students. The reason of that they look so old to be students again. In case of Korea, we cannot dream study when we are getting older because we already appointed our goal and job in the adolescence. That is a problem in society of Korea and can explain why I decide to come in America. During I study in the United States, I will enjoy the America.

joural question 2 - love realtionship

Many people have same goal, which is to find their soul mate, for their life. People include me, still believe that the destiny to meet a soul mate should be accidently and naturally happened without an intention or a plan. some ways are so similarity in other countries. In fact, having a purpose to explain the way how to meet someone, we also have courtship, dating, online dating sites, random stranger and matching making in Korea. Especially, some people want to be a member of match making companies even though they have to spend more than 2000 dollars to install personal information. The existence of match making company and providing one’s information shows how much Koreans consider about background, educated level, money, social status, and job. Moreover, It is so ridiculous that matchmaking company only gives four chances to meet someone to follow their rules. It is possible that people miss the chance to meet their real soul mate because the meeting is made by employee in company. How they can give the serious decision about finding their mate to other person’s hand and sure the match making company could choose their mate? Sometimes, I am wondering what is love, marriage, and family. Generally, people have similar definition of true love, which should be honesty, passionate, and enthusiastic without any consideration that we lost at this moment. Definitely, I want to be the one of romanticist.

Journal question 1 - break time.

Sometimes, people want to make a time for relaxation from busy normal life.
Its time comes same on me, before I started this term; I needed to take a rest in order to lease myself. After I took the Toefl test, I deserved my depressed result that I might not pass the EAP 1 level because I didn’t do well. During the break time, I didn't answer phone calls from my friends, cleaned my house a whole day so perfectly and then stayed in my clean home for watch Gossip Girl that is my favorite among American dramas. Many famous American dramas, such as Hero’s, One tree hill, Gossip girl, are started whether in Korea or in the United States.
The Gossip Girl starts new season in this month and I enjoyed watching it so much but I had not very little to watch dramas in the last term. Fortunately, I could stay in my home as much as I hoped and the time of watch dramas was missed to me. Story of The Gossip Girl is based on rich high school students who lived in the Manhattan and actress and actor are so attractive to me and become the icon in now. No one can disrupt my time for enjoyment even I didn’t feel any boring. Also, I deeply thought my goal why I came in the United States, how much I didn’t do well in the last term, and what I supposed to do in coming this terms. Through the last break time, totally I am ready to rush again for studying of EAP 1.

Green Tea

Most Asia countries enjoyed a lot of tea and tea culture. Green tea is famous not only China but also Korea. In case of Korea, tea culture is important to family. After finishing a meal, all number of family sit a same table and drink tea. These days, Koreans also does not have much time to talk with family or friends because of hard works and busy daily life. so the tea has important role of connecting relationship for is developed many kinds. Especially, The green tea among many kind of the tea, is known good for a diet, is raised huge farms at Bo-sung, and has more reputation in Korea. I usually enjoyed to drink the green tea before I was in Korea. However, in the United States, the price of the green tea is more expensive than Korea. Otherwise, the taste of the green tea is different when I used to drink one. That might be the quality of the green tea is influenced, a place, temperatures, strength and weakness of wind, and effort of farmers. More ever, the farm of the green tea in Bo-Sung is also famous in a great view so many Korean dramas are taken a film. In Korea, Bo-sung becomes the essential trip course for family, friends, and couples. Sometimes, I really missed the memory when I visited in Bo-sung with my friends and the green tea, too.

Movie Industry in Korea

9/22 – In the United States movies are a very important piece of culture. In your country is there a huge movie industry? Do people in your country prefer to watch national films or foreign films? If they prefer foreign films what country do those films come from? Do you prefer your national movies or foreign films? What is your favorite movie?

In case of Korea, we could not find a huge movie industry like in the United States.
However, D- war is produced by Sim Hyung-Rae in 2007 and a first run on the Unite States and Korea at the same time. That affair means improvement in Korea movie industry.
The reason of that, the D-war has a spectacle story about the Korea legend about a dragon and many Koreans expect how much is expressed well in his films. Sim Hyung-Rae was a famous comedian and suddenly he announced his retirement at the period of prosperity and to become the movie director. He made the SF movies, totally failed despite of his efforts. However, he did not give up his dream to make a perfect movie which is expressed like as real. The reason of that, the subject matter in his movie are dragons or dinosaurs. This skill could not come up the United States had So that he decided to accept this skill from the United States. He spent much time for editing the D-war even though the last movies were not greeted by audiences. When the D-war was introduced in public, many Koreans showed enthusiastic reaction to him and longed for to see what he achieved. He was becoming a hero through his movie as the war in Korea. After Koreans watch the D-war, many Koreans criticize about the war what they felt. Some Koreans are satisfied his attempt and passion otherwise, the other Koreans are disappointed at uncompleted story. Lately the war is issued in Korea but nobody can estimate a harsh criticism because of his fervor against the editing movie .

My Favorite Song

When I first heard sky walker, I did not know what a kind of music is.
The sky walker is a kind of new age music, played in violin and piano, by Isao Sasaki.
How can I know the sky walker, I usually enjoy to read from Japanese novel.
That novel used a lot of music to source every scene.
The sky walker has a sad love story.
In Japan, a women want to find a guy as her old lover, so she asked for help in radio station because she thought if he might be listened that song from radio, he would try to find her because of the sky walker is only song that could be connected her and him.
So I want to try when I finished to read that novel after I really like it.
The reason is that makes me relaxer, peaceful and quit.
In addition to, I played piano when I was young; I had a dream of pianist.
I still enjoy listening piano sounds sometimes that I got impression when I listened in my home alone.
More over, these days I got homesick little, stressful because of relationship with friends, my goals, study of future what I should do.
I did not make sense when people heard music that is helpful to change feeling.
But the sky walker proves to me why people thought about it.
If you want to heard the sky walker, I really sure you will like it and definitely crazy for it too.

My first reaction in USA

Introduction
I have lived in United Stated for 4months. I still feel unfamiliar in here.

I can’t erase memory of first impression when I saw the view through the plane.
House and building organized that looks like Lego blocks.
Comparing with Korea, we cannot see much natural sightseeing.
And I surprised how much United stated bigger than Korea is.

Most of the American want help me and I thanks for their kindness.
First time in two weeks, I cannot use the Internet service and electrical service too.
I feel so nervous when I call the electrical company even they provide translation Korean service.
I got the motivation in the United States.
Because American keep works on their job, study even they are old. So that I realized why people always called as America is opportunity of country. Usually in Korea, we already are chosen by during high school periods.

I have a dream about to study in United States. that dream already is doing, I will try to be realized anther dream too.

My favorite food

My favorite food is Japanese's style that is called as sushi.
The sushi is made of slightly vinegared rice ball topped with sliced raw fish, etc.
The sushi is known good diet food because of low calrories.
The sushi has more colorful than any kind of food when I got more satisfaction.
I don’t like oily food style so Jappaness food style is good for me.
Therefore, I usually enjoy the sushi with Soju that is Korean traditional alcohol.
I am influenced by my farther of taste flavor because my farther had grown near the sea.
He almost ate fish food each meal of a day and it still continue in our home.
If you have time, I recommended trying good healthy food as the sushi.
